At Royale Cinema Lounge, we’re redefining what a cinema experience can be. We are a retro lounge and film archive with an emphasis on cinema appreciation. Unlike traditional commercial theaters, we operate as a member lounge/club, meaning that we do not publicly advertise all of our screenings. This model is the best way to share our space and programming with you at such a low cost to you! Providing an exclusive and intimate environment for film enthusiasts and community members. We are here to play movies every day and revive "dead formats". Our goal is to foster the appreciate for the art of filmmaking by making it a place to see all kinds of movies and not just the occasional new release.
We will be showing new releases occasionally and they will be published under our "Coming Soon" tab, allowing you to stay updated on upcoming new films. You can grab your tickets online anytime!
Royale Cinema Lounge was created to offer something unique to the Joplin community—a dedicated space to celebrate the art of cinema in a more personal, curated way. As a member, you gain access to carefully selected independent and classic films presented in a cozy, third-space atmosphere designed for meaningful connections and an appreciation of storytelling. We have two types of of memberships to ensure everyone is welcome: Royale Insiders (allows you to join our mailing list and admission is $5 for classics and re-releases and $8 for new releases) and Royale Insiders+ (join our mailing list and for $15/month you get unlimited entry to the lounge and all the screenings--including new releases!
If you want to know EVERYTHING we're doing each week, yes! It is important to know that we are NOT a traditional, commercial movie theater. We want to emphasize that we do not operate this way to exclude anyone. We do this to be compliant with our licensing agreements and the ability to play as many films as possible for your enjoyment. This means that if there is a movie that you would like to see on the big screen, we can probably get it for you! If you don't want to get emails from us you can just come by and pick up a calendar!
